If you know me personally, or if you’re following my Pinterest, then you won’t be surprised by the fact that I’m a huge fan when it comes to minimalistic furniture, and, especially, chairs. The idea of a “Christmas wishlist” came naturally to me, as I was trying to pick the theme for my first (real) blog post. Some of you were struggling with finding Scandinavian furniture items online and I hope that via this post I can give you some hints. If you need anything specific, don’t hesitate to ask me – I’ll do my best to find it for you, or at least to give you some guidance.
So here it goes. This is my Christmas wishlist:
Rex / Lozenge
I just LOVE this bar stool by the Australian brand TUCKBOX. It can be used as a bar stool, side table, foot rest, or simply as a piece of art which can find a place in any home. You can find it here.
Another gem by TUCKBOX, the MJ hallway console is designed for spaces where a standard side table just won’t fit. It comes in two heights and can be used as the perfect space for storing books, magazines, plants and all kinds of small accessories. You can find the MJ console here.
ALDAMA CHAIR – BLACK & BLACK
I am absolutely in love with this chair, designed and handcrafted in Mexico by The Coyoacán Design Studio. The materials used for the Aldama chair are straps of Mexican leather and steel for the frame. Basically, if you love patio furniture so much that you want to bring it indoors as well, then this is the right choice for you. Find the product here.
Christmas in the Great Hall – Book Lovers’ Scented Soy Candle – 8oz jar
To be completely honest, I’m not a big fan when it comes to Christmas decorations. If I had to choose, I’d pick a private cozy atmosphere than shiny tinsels and big lights anytime. Consider this the ultimate solution for a festive decor for people who aren’t festive (or am I the only one?). The artists behind Frostbeard studio are Rox and Tom – a married couple, specialized in creating “nerdy things that need to exist”, such as that adorable candle.
Anker Rack Black
Because every girl needs a proper place to store her clothes. The Anker Rack is made of powder coated steel and is designed by Christian Troels and Jonas Birkebæk Poulsen – a two-man company from Copenhagen. You can find the product here.
Soap Stones by PELLE: Onyx/Cassia Nugget 3oz
PELLE is a design studio, specialized in creating objects and design for the modern age. The Soap Stones are handcrafted glycerin soap, intended for both use and display and consisting of all natural, vegetable-based soap ingredients. This one comes in opaque black color and its scent is warm and cinnamon-like with hints of floral – perfect for the cold winter weather.
NUR is a Danish studio, focused on giving a honest, simple and minimalistic approach when it comes to their products. If you don’t believe that such thing as “love at first sight” exist, think again. The Geyma sideboard is simple, light and versatile, plus it will fit perfectly in your living room/dining room/hallway… okay, let’s face it – it will fit anywhere.
New York Elevations
It’s not a secret that I’m a huge fan of studio esinam – a Swedish creative studio, founded in the spring of 2013 by Josefine Lilljegren and Sebastian Gokah. Some of you are probably familiar with their unique print series Elevations and Landmarks, capturing the feeling of various cities around the world and their specific architecture. Here’s their brand new product -the New York Elevations print
Crux Blanket Black/Offwhite
Nothing says “Scandinavian design” more than this particular blanket by Pia Wallén – a Swedish designer, famous for her minimalistic products, successfully combining tradition and modernity. The Crux blanket is made of 100% wool, so consider it the perfect partner for cold winter weekends at home.
And what’s on your Christmas wishlist?
